    Early Years Curriculum

Our Nursery follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, which provides children with a strong foundation for future learning through a balance of adult-led activities and child-initiated play.

The curriculum is organised into seven areas of learning:

    • Personal, Social and Emotional Development

    • Communication and Language

    • Physical Development

    • Literacy

    • Mathematics

    • Understanding the World

    • Expressive Arts and Design

Each area contains a series of developmental milestones and Early Learning Goals (ELGs), which children work towards throughout their time in Nursery.

    Learning Through Children's Interests

Our staff carefully plan engaging topics based on children's interests and experiences. Themes such as exploring our local area, transport or people who help us provide exciting opportunities to develop skills across all areas of learning.

We also respond to children's emerging interests, adapting activities and learning experiences to ensure every child remains motivated, engaged and inspired to learn.

    Supporting Individual Progress

Children take part in a range of adult-led and independent activities throughout the day. Staff observe, assess and support each child's development, identifying their next steps and providing appropriate challenge to help them progress.

Regular assessment and progress tracking ensure that every child develops the confidence, skills and knowledge needed for a successful transition into Reception.

    Government Childcare Funding

Funding may be available to help with childcare costs for eligible families. Support is available for eligible children from 9 months old through to 4 years old, depending on individual circumstances.

We encourage parents to check their eligibility using the Government Childcare Funding Checker. If you are unsure about the funding available to your family, our team will be happy to discuss your options and explain how funding can support your childcare arrangements.

Additional Services Fees / Integrated Care Package (ICP)

Government-funded childcare hours are provided at no cost to eligible families.

In addition to funded childcare hours, families may choose to access our optional Integrated Care Package (ICP). This package is charged at a single hourly rate of £3 per hour and covers a range of additional services and resources that are not included in government funding.

Details of the services included within the ICP and the associated daily charges can be found in the table below.

Government funding only covers the delivery of childcare and does not cover the additional items and services provided through the ICP. Families who choose not to take up the ICP will be responsible for providing these items themselves, where appropriate. Any items provided by parents must comply with food hygiene regulations, Department for Education healthy eating guidance, and the school's own policies and procedures.

All funding options and charges will be discussed during your funding meeting with the Nursery Manager. Where families choose not to access the ICP, our Opt Out Policy will apply.
